The Sultan of Brunei Congratulates Cambodia on a Successful ASEAN Summit

PHNOM PENH: Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei Darussalam, met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace this Monday morning, 14 November 2022.

During this meeting, the Sultan of Brunei congratulated the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Prime Minister for organizing and leading the ASEAN Summits and related summits successfully this year.

Regarding bilateral relations, he also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation between the kingdoms of Cambodia and Brunei, and he also encouraged the continuation of cooperation in all fields in addition to existing cooperation. In particular, he asked the two agriculture ministers to cooperate on agriculture and in the export of jasmine rice to Brunei.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked the Sultan for his official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia and his participation in the ASEAN Summits and related summits, which fueled the historic event in Cambodia to a resounding success.

Prime Minister Hun Sen also thanked the Sultan for the good cooperation between the two kingdoms.

The Sultan of Brunei Darussalam visited Cambodia on 9 November 2022, accompanied by his son, Prince Abdul Mateen, to attend the ASEAN Summit and related summits which took place from 8-13 November 2022.
